Reliance Industries Limited chairman Mukesh Ambani on Saturday said that Nagpur would soon see some investments by RIL.
Speaking after the 7th annual convocation of the Institute of Management Technology (IMT) at Nagpur, Ambani explained that Nagpur was key to his 4G plans. Given Nagpur's strategic locational advantage (of being the centre of the country), it cannot be missed in any plan of that scale and magnitude. Nagpur would be one of the main hubs for 4G rollout, Ambani said. "Nagpur will soon see some investments by RIL," he added.
"We already have a polyester plant here near Mouda and RIL will soon invest more in Nagpur," he said.
On being asked on his vision of education, he said technological advances would propel a change in landscape of universities in India. He also said that the youth of the country have a great opportunity as they are at the right stage of India moving ahead. Ambani said that he firmly believed India has the opportunity to become a global power.
The country needs to create universities that feature in the top 100 universities of the world. Sadly, today, none of the Indian universities -- given its immense talent pool and skilled manpower -- don't feature in any list. All this, he said emphatically, would change soon and Indian Universities will compete globally.
IMT chairman Kamal Nath also spoke on the occasion.
