Sensex regains 215 pts in early trade

The BSE benchmark index recovers nearly half of Wednesday's losses on buying by funds in blue-chip stocks.
The benchmark Sensex recovered almost half of the previous day's losses by gaining 215 points on the Bombay Stock Exchange on Thursday, on revival of buying by funds in blue-chip stocks, sparked by firming global markets.
The Sensex, which had plunged over 453 points on Wednesday, recovered by 215.81 points at 12,745.43 in the first five minutes of trade.

Similarly, the wide-based National Stock Exchange index, Nifty was up by 66.45 oints at 3,707.55.
Major support to the the market came in from stocks like Infosys Technologies, Reliance Industries, ACC and ITC Ltd.
A few stocks in the midcap segment also firmed up on buying by retailers.
