Sensex up 31 points in early trade

The BSE benchmark index gains 30.85 points to 16,370.74 on fresh buying by retail investors in some strong shares.
The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex on Wednesday gained 31 points in early trade on fresh buying by retail investors in some fundamentally strong shares.
The 30-share index, which lost nearly 338 points on Tuesday, traded 30.85 points higher to 16,370.74 in the first five minutes of trade.

Similarly, the wide-based National Stock Exchange index, Nifty, gained 23.75 points to 4,888 as heavy-weight stocks like Reliance Industries, Infosys and Tata Steel rose on retail buying.
