Tata-PepsiCo JV eyes Rs 700-cr turnover by ’15

Eyeing a turnover of Rs 700 crore in the next five years, NourishCo — a joint venture between Tata Global Beverages and PepsiCo India — on Thursday said it will expand its healthy product portfolio.
The company, which launched nutrient-rich packaged water Tata Water Plus, said a new variant of the product will hit the market in the next 6-7 months. Tata Water Plus is currently priced at Rs 16 per 750 ml pet bottle. Launched initially in Tamil Nadu, the company plans to take it to other markets soon.
“We expect that by 2016, the JV’s turnover would touch Rs 700 crore,” said RK Krishna Kumar, vice chairman, Tata Global.
“There is a growing trend towards adopting health & wellness (H&W) products,” said Ashok Namboodiri, chief, marketing & sales, NourishCo Beverages. “We are creating a new H&W category in the water space that promises huge potential.”
With the launch of Tata Water Plus, NourishCo has now a portfolio of three products including Tata Gluco Plus and Himalayan Natural Mineral water.
