Two senior officers of the Punjab National Bank (PNB) named in the suicide note by Panchkula Sector-20 branch chief manager Ajay Sehgal have been transferred, even as the UT police have been trying to get to them for questioning.
BM Padha, currently posted in Indore, will replace JK Gupta, who has shifted to Delhi, as the field general manager, while SK Dua, currently working in Delhi, will replace AK Gupta, who has been shifted to Lucknow, as the Chandigarh circle head.
Aman Singh, Station House Officer (SHO) of GRP police station, Chandigarh, said that his team had visited the Sector-17 office of the bank twice, but could not find the accused.
“It seems the accused are evading the police. On Monday, we will issue a notice asking them to appear before us. Failure to do so will lead to arrest,” he added.
Meanwhile, general manager of the human resources department at the bank headquarters in Delhi BP Ray visited the city on Saturday and met several officials.
“I am here to take stock of the situation,” he told HT. He claimed that action would be taken as per procedure.
RESENTMENT AMONG STAFF AND FAMILY
The family and friends of the deceased, however, continue to demand the immediate arrest of the accused. They claim that at the very least the officials should have been suspended.
