The gathering at the swearing-in ceremony of Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday here had several over-enthusiastic supporters of the BJP and ardent fans of Prime Minister Narendra Modi; and they were most visible to newspersons, for they were right inside the media enclosure.
A fairly good number of BJP supporters occupied the media chairs, raising the Tricolour at will and an un-ending slogan of "Bharat Mata Ki Jai". One, however, would raise the slogan "Jai Shankar Bhagwan ji ki jai!"

Several BJP supporters in the seats reserved for the media could not resist standing on those chairs to film the ceremony on their mobile phones. Arguments broke out when they blocked the view for the photojournalists.

The takeover of the media enclosure started when the BJP workers, some of them office-holders at the district party level, moved over from their seats in the adjacent block for a better view. Since only bamboo frames separated the enclosures, the BJP supporters, men and women alike, just jumped over to the media side without any objections from the men in khaki standing guard.

There was neither any let-up in the situation nor a solution to the hindrances until the event was over.
