Anybody would agree that the true joy is in celebrating it with one's loved ones. So, why not celebrate the occasion by visiting an old age home or orphanage .Share your happiness. Plan a visit to a senior citizen/old age home and make them feel that still there is someone who cares for them.

3. Donations that count:
Donate valuables and money to the poor. There are many NGOs who are working for the social welfare of the society, why not help them and encourage their work by providing necessary funds.

4.Labour Work:
Appreciate the work done by Milkwala, kaam wali aunty .Say hello! exchange greetings. Make them feel special.

5.Visit to botanical garden or plantation of trees:

Rather than giving an off on diwali.Schools and colleges can plan a visit to a botanical garden. So,that the students can learn about the nature

6.Exchanging biodegradable gifts:

Gifts and Diwali goes hand in hand. One may exchange biodegradable gifts such as home made diyas, this is eco-friendly as well as unique. Give it a thought!!

7.Arrange nukkad nataks/seminars/film screenings:

Nukkad nataks and street plays should be arranged on the day highlighting the harmful effects of burning crackers. Seminars should be arranged on the deteriorating state of environment. So,that people themselves avoid the use of crackers.

So ,try something unique this Diwali and make it a little more memorable
