Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal on Saturday said Sri Dasmesh Academy, Anandpur Sahib, should strive to become a leading residential school of the country.
Presiding over a review meeting, the chief minister said concerted efforts were required to bring the institute on par with top schools such as Doon and Sanawar.
Badal, who is the chairman of the Sri Dasmesh Academy Trust, said the project was conceived to provide world class education to students of the region. He said it was matter of pride that students of the academy were excelling in sports, academics and extra-curricular activities.
The CM also visited the site of the upcoming guest house and took stock of the construction work. He also visited the martial arts academy and spoke to students. Punjab education minister Dr Daljit Singh Cheema and special principal secretary to the CM KJS Cheema accompanied Badal.
