Controversial godman and Sirsa-based Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has asked the CBI court for permission to go abroad to promote the sequel to his film ‘Messenger of God’ (MSG). The dera head, who is being tried for a rape and two murders, wants to leave country for a month, his counsel, Vishal Garg Narwana, said.
“We have moved an application in the CBI court seeking permission to go to UK, US, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Canada and Dubai for promoting ‘MSG-2’,” Narwana added.
The application will come up for hearing on June 6. CBI counsel HPS Verma said he will oppose the application and said the application was a “delaying tactic”. Months ago, the dera head was allowed to go abroad for promoting his first film. The MSG-2 is claimed to be based on a message against prostitution, drugs and crime against children.
Meanwhile, while hearing Ram Rahim’s application for more specimen samples of a rape victim’s writing to match it with the disputed letter, the high court stayed the pronouncement of the final order by the trial court.
