2014

Parkash Singh Badal: A shoe was hurled at Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal during a function in Khanna, near Ludhiana. Badal was attending a function organised to observe the death anniversary of eminent freedom fighter Kartar Singh Isru.

2012

Rahul Gandhi: A shoe was thrown at All India Congress Committee (AICC) vice-president Rahul Gandhi while he was addressing an election rally in Uttarakhand. The shoe, however, missed the target.

Nitin Gadkari: Union minister Nitin Gadkari was hit by a shoe during a rally in Pune. Gadkari, however, attended the function showing visibly being only mildly perturbed by the incident.

2011

Omar Abdullah: Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah was targeted when a suspended police constable, Abdulla Ahad Jaan, hurled a shoe at him during the Independence Day celebrations in Srinagar.

2009

Manmohan Singh: A shoe was hurled at then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh during election campaign in Ahmedabad by a 21-year-old student. The shoe fell way short of the target.

P Chidambaram: A journalist threw a shoe at the Congress leader P Chidambaram at a press conference organised in Delhi in April, 2009. The Sikh journalist Jarnail Singh (now an AAP minister) was agitated as the minister was reluctant to answer questions about Jagdish Tytler's acquittal in a 1984 anti-Sikh riots case.

LK Advani: Senior BJP leader LK Advani was caught up in an embarrassing situation when a member of his own party swung a shoe at him that missed him closely. The man was purportedly agitated due to alleged groupism in the party.

BS Yeddyurappa: A slipper was thrown at then Karnataka chief minister BS Yeddyurappa at a BJP rally. The slipper landed far from the dais.

Arvind Kejriwal: A slipper was hurled at AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal (then an India Against Corruption leader) in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The slipper missed him narrowly.
