Asked if any disciplinary action was coming the way of former chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh for his opposing the party's demand for a CBI inquiry, Bajwa said: "He is a big leader, and action is taken only against small leaders such as me."

Asked if he as state party president had recommended any action against Amarinder, he dodged the question again, saying: "I'm not here to discuss individuals. We are moving the Punjab and Haryana high court for a CBI inquiry into the drug-trade allegations against some Punjab ministers, as Punjab Police have lost their credibility."

He said he did not understand why the chief minister was reluctant to order an inquiry against a minister when Punjab Police had arrested 50 other people named by drug lord Jagdish Bhola. "The CM has given clean chit to two of his cabinet colleagues, Gulzar Singh Singh Ranike and Sikandar Singh Maluka, already in other scandals," he said.

Reacting to the union government's restoring the special industrial incentives to Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand until March 31, 2017, Bajwa said it was uncalled for but he would speak with the industry minister. "The Punjab CM never demanded any special package for the state's industry; he only ruined it," he said.
