Intense discussions on global issues mark day 2 of BVCMUN-2014

An intense discussion on various global issues marked the second day of fifth Bhavan Vidyalaya's Model United Nations Conference, BVCMUN-2014, on the school premises in Sector 27 on Saturday.

Second day of BVCMUN-2014, which took off on Friday, saw students discuss various issues including the role and responsibility of private military companies in armed conflict, children in armed conflict, acts of fraud, misconduct and wrong doing amounting to criminal intent among the peacekeeping forces mandated by United Nations, the question of space debris in earth's orbit and atmosphere, situation in Crimea and the Issue of Kashmir.

As many as 300 students from over 45 schools, including two teams from Pakistan, are participating in this mammoth event. DPS Noida, Tagore International Vasant Vihar, GD Goenka New Delhi, Maharani Gayatri Devi School Jaipur, Heritage School Jammu, DPS Srinagar and Lawrence School Sanawar are some of the renowned schools taking part in this conference.

This year six committees-United Nations General Assembly-DISEC, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, United Nations Convention Against Corruption-Conference of State Parties (CoSP), United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space,United Nations Security Council and Indo-Pak Special Meet on Kashmir - will feature in the event.
