The victims, however, escaped with minor injuries and were discharged after first-aid by the civil hospital.
Hemlata’s father Lal Singh was angry with his daughter ever since she started living with their distant relatives Samoora Devi and her husband Parkash in Gurgaon. On Wednesday, Hemlata was admitted to Rewari civil hospital by Samoora and Parkash for stomachache.
When Lal Singh got to know, he along with wife Narayani Devi, son Rupesh and daughter-in-law Ganga Devi, reached the hospital and threw acid on Hemlata, Samoora and Parkash, said investigation officer Virender Singh.
The trio’ however, didn’t receive serious injuries as the acid was not concentrated enough, a doctor said.
Police said Lal and other family members have been booked on the compliant of Hemlata. The accused are residents of a colony near Gokalgarh village of Rewari district.
Sources said Hemlata had claimed that she left her home as her family was pushing her into flesh trade. Police said efforts were on to arrest the accused.
