The hotel management has pasted a statutory warning stating that it would contact the police in case of any untoward incident. Earlier the hotel had put up a message saying it would down its shutters if there was any disorder.
The road in front of Aroma has long been the venue of fights and lawlessness. A month ago, a youngster was killed by another group of youngsters in front of Aroma. Initially it was alleged that the PCR vehicles reached the crime spot late. However, Chandigarh police inquired into the matter and stated that a police gypsy had reached the spot within minutes of the murder.
The deputy superintendent of police (PCR and communication) Roshan Lal said earlier too the PCR vehicle was stationed near Aroma, but now a space has been fixed in front of the hotel for the vehicle. "We have strengthened the police force near Aroma and other late night hangouts," said Lal.
"We have deployed a PCR in front of our hotel to avoid brawls and chaos," Aroma chairperson Manmohan Singh said. "This action has been taken to ensure that troublemakers are dealt with on legal terms. We don't want any commotion in and around Aroma."
In the past four months, 10 incidents of late night brawls were reported, of which four were from discotheques and lounges. The Chandigarh police have registered five cases and more than 10 persons were arrested.
