PU to start MBA correspondence, last date to apply is July 6

Working executives who wish to pursue masters of business administration (MBA) from the Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh have got an opportunity to take admission in the course as the University School of Open Learning (USOL), PU, has invited applications for the MBA executive seats.

There will be 545 seats and the admission would be based on an entrance test. The prospectus and application form is available on the PU website mbaoffcampus.puchd.ac.in.

PU spokesman said price of prospectus for general category is Rs 1650 and for SC/ST is Rs 825. The last date for submission of online application to generate the bank challan is July 6 and last date for submission of fee in any branch of SBI is July 8. The entrance test would be conducted on July 26. The qualifying percentage in the test would be 15%.

Out of 545 seats, 45 seats have been reserved for NRIs while the remaining seats would be available as per the quota. 55.5% seats are for open category, 15% seats have been reserved for SC, 7.5% for ST, 5% each for BC, sports and defence, 3% for physically handicapped, 2% each for riot victims and freedom fighter families.

The last date for submission of fee details and uploading of photograph, signature with rest of the information on the website is July10. e-admit cards would be available on the website on July 20. There will be no physical communication for this purpose.

The centre for entrance test is Chandigarh. If the number of candidates exceeded 40, the entrance test centre would also be set up at Ludhiana also. The test would be of objective type and will be of two hours duration, consisting 100 questions.

The components of the test will include: data interpretation and problem solving, numerical ability, verbal ability/ reasoning, general English and comprehension.

PU spokesman said the curriculum of the course through distance mode will be relevant to the changing business scenario and will cater to the needs of all aspiring learners.

Specialisation is offered in third and fourth semesters. The different specialisations are human resources, marketing and finance.
