The Punjab government has sanctioned prestigious projects worth Rs 127 crore for Amritsar, local bodies minister Anil Joshi has said. The solid-waste management and internal circular road works would be completed for Rs 98 crore and Rs 29 crore, respectively, the minister said here on Tuesday.

The first installment of Rs 61.13 crore for the bus rapid transport project and Rs 11.13 crore for the sewerage work in south-east zone had been released, he claimed.

He said approach roads under the elevated road; link between GT Road and Tarn Taran road; and sewers were the Rs 74-crore projects under consideration.
