The Jammu and Kashmir government today said a Rs 754.67 crore project has been approved for upgrading power infrastructure in Srinagar under the Restructured Accelerated Power Development Reforms Programme (RAPDRP).

Power infrastructure in 30 towns of the state including Srinagar is being upgraded under RAPDRP, minister of state for power Shabir Ahmed Khan told the legislative assembly in reply to a question.
He further said a prestigious project of Rs 754.67 crore for Srinagar has been approved and is under implementation for upgrading the power infrastructure under the programme.
The minister said besides RAPDRP, the repairs and improvement of HT and LT network is also taken care under state plan and CDF matching share schemes.
He said that preparation of hydrological and topographic studies for Sukhnag and Shaliganga hydroelectric projects are under process.
