Selja, who represents the Ambala Lok Sabha seat in the Parliament, has been accusing the state government of ignoring her constituency with regards to developmental works. In fact, Selja's critical remarks against her own government were recently brought to the notice of the party high command by the state Congress president, Phool Chand Mullana.

"We wanted that all Congress legislators and ministers should know the kind of treatment being meted out to us. Our assembly constituencies have been neglected in terms of development. Our demands are kept pending and our areas do not get sufficient funds for development. This is the reason why we raised our voice in the CLP meeting," Selwal told Hindustan Times.

Bhukhri, when asked about the happening during the meeting, said he would not like to share the details of the party meet. When asked whether or not he had raised the issue of lack of development and neglect of his constituency in the meeting, Bhukhri replied in the affirmative.

Selwal, meanwhile, said they wanted the chief minister to give them a proper audience so that they can apprise him of their grievances. "I had sought an audience with the CM but was denied. Even on Friday, we wanted the chief minister to give us a patient hearing and listen to our complaints," Selwal said.

The Uklana legislator said the union minister had already raised before the Congress high command the issue of discrimination in terms of development and neglect of certain areas by the Hooda government. "She (Selja) has spoken to Congress president Sonia Gandhi, her political adviser Ahmed Patel and Haryana Congress affairs in charge BK Hariprasad in this regard. They have assured that our voice will be heard," Selwal said.

Congress chief whip Aftab Ahmed sought to downplay the incident. "Whatever issues the two legislators had were sorted by the chief minister," Ahmed said.
