On Saturday, Ram Kumar Kherakha, a Kanda supporter and a trader who owns a shop in the grain market, was attacked by some unidentified persons. His hands and legs were fractured in the attack. Later, police booked seven persons after Kherakha accused members of the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) for the attack.

Traders who have shops in the grain market organised a meet on the Janata Bhawan road and demanded immediate arrest of persons involved in the attack. Arhtiyas' association president Surinder Michnabadi called upon traders to put up a united face in the hour of need and repel the forces that take law in their hands and create an environment of terror for them.

"If police and government fail to arrest the suspects, we will launch an indefinite 'bandh' at the grain market," he said. He slammed the Haryana government for its failure to provide a conducive environment for traders.

To quell any untoward situation, police force stood on guard throughout the day.

Meanwhile, BJP state vice-president Jagdish Chopra demanded the transfer of Sirsa superintendent of police (SP) Davinder Yadav and suspension of city station house officer (SHO) Vikram Nehra for their failure to arrest the deteriorating law and order situation in the district for past few days.
