Discussing the construction of new overbridges on various national highways in the state, including the one at Amritsar along with HBL over adjoining UBDC (Upper Bari Doab Canal), Faridkot, Kotkapura, Bathinda and Barnala at an approximate cost of Rs 250 crore, the deputy CM pleaded the Union minister to direct the bridge section of the Union ministry to construct all five overbridges during 2015-16. Gadkari assured to start construction at Amritsar and Bathinda overbridges by June as the DPR for both these projects have been submitted, whereas the remaining overbridges would be constructed after October.
