Protesting the "inordinate delay" in the implementation of the revised pay scales approved by the Haryana government, teachers of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology here today staged a two-hour dharna in front of the vice-chancellor's office.
"The delay is affecting recruitment and promotions in universities and resulting in deterioration of the academic and research environment in the state technical universities," said Sandeep Rana working president of the Federation of Haryana University Teacher's Association.
The promotions of the teachers have been kept in abeyance since January 1, 2009. He said on this account the faculty members of the state technical universities are moving out of the state for better opportunities.
