Vehicle which left Jammu on Sunday morning for Kashmir valley are stranded at Badinallah, 80 km from Jammu, due to traffic jam as hundreds of truck allowed by traffic police to ply from Kashmir on Saturday afternoon were moving towards Jammu on Sunday.
The harried passengers told UNI over phone from Badinallah that since there was no traffic or local police personnel to regulate traffic, drivers were trying to clear the traffic jam.
They said that hundreds of vehicles, particularly those carrying minors and women, were stranded between Badinallah and Udhampur.
"We left Jammu at 6.30am and are stranded for the past three hours," a passenger Fayaz Ahamd said.
He said that despite making announcements that only one-way traffic will be allowed on the highway, truck drivers who have paid bribes were being allowed to ply on both sides.
