Be it internet space through Twitter or on the ground, a senior minister in Haryana is making all the loud noises and making sure that he is heard. No day in the life of Haryana's Health, sports and youth affairs minister Anil Vij seems to be without action that evokes interest. Be it his twitter account or his surprise raids on hospitals and other government offices,- Vij is proving to be an action-oriented minister, making news mostly for all right reasons.

No day in the life of Haryana's Health, sports and youth affairs minister Anil Vij seems to be without action that evokes interest. Be it his twitter account or his surprise raids on hospitals and other government offices,- Vij is proving to be an action-oriented minister, making news mostly for all right reasons.

Sample this.

"Ek bar jo maine commitment kar di, uske baad main apni bhi nahin suntan. (Once I make a commitment, I don't listen even to myself.)" This popular dialogue from Bollywood superstar Salman Khan seems to have caught the fancy of the minister. This was one of the tweets the minister recently posted on his official twitter account @anilvijmantri.

"I want to create such a situation that if anyone goes to an ultrasound centre to get a sex determination test done, the doctor should tell him to run away lest Anil Vij arrives," the minister, who has initiated a drive against illegal sex determination tests, posted recently.

Last week, his tweet wondered if the alleged suicide of farmer Gajendra Singh at an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) rally in Delhi was not a new edition of Bollywood actor Aamir Khan's satirical film "Peepli Live".

Vij regularly posts newspaper clippings of his surprise raids, the action initiated by him on wrongdoings in the government and the events he attends.

At a recent event, Vij, 62, bent and touched the feet of Yadvinder Singh, the great-grandson of revolutionary hero Bhagat Singh.

He courted controversy with the Congress after he recommended that a sports complex named after Congress leader and former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi be renamed after Bhagat Singh.

He has taken jibes at former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda (2005-14) saying the Congress was fighting a battle within, between the 'topi' (cap worn by Congressmen) and 'pagri' (turban in pink popularised by Hooda). His jibe suggested that Hooda, who faces opposition from Congress leaders, was headed to making a new party.

"Hooda jee nayee party banana ki aur badh rahe hain. Jhanda hoga gulabi tatha naam gulabi gang. (Hooda is moving towards forming a new party. Its flag will be pink and the name will be Pink Gang," VIj tweeted.

Taking on the Nehru-Gandhi family, Vij said the whole clan should be boycotted for the spying ordered by prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru on freedom fighter Subhas Chandra Bose.

"Sonia's visit to Haryana is only Village Tourism. Must have been feeling congestion after loss of power," Vij tweeted after Congress president Sonia Gandhi arrived in Haryana to meet farmers hit by unusual rains.

Vij spares none when it comes to speaking his mind -- not even his own party's chief minister.

"Thank You chief minister for taking keen interest into my departments. I am relaxed." The tweet by the outspoken minister recently created a buzz in Haryana's ruling political circles.

Vij was clearly upset with Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar for showing interest in departments handled by him (Vij).

Vij, who emerged as the most popular among all Haryana ministers in a recent survey done by a leading vernacular daily, has been trying hard to streamline the functioning of the health department.

A veteran and well-known BJP leader who represents Ambala, Vij was one of the top contenders for the chief minister's post.

When the Khattar government completed 100 days recently, Vij tweeted: "Kuch log mujhe mere kaam karne ke tarike se rokna chahate hain, parantu veh kabhi kamyaab nahin honge. Main apne tarike se hi kaam karta rahoonga." (Some people are hell bent on stopping me from working my way but they will not succeed. I will continue to work my way).

In another tweet later, he said: "There are many obstacles in politics in every step. I have not named anyone... I had expressed my resolve to work to mark the 100 days of the government. I will crush all obstacles and move on."

The minister, it is clear, is moving on - from tweet to tweet!
