592 Covid cases in Bengaluru in 24 hours, 617 across Karnataka
Bengaluru's daily tally of new Covid-19 infections were at 592 and the city's positivity rate was at 3.52 per cent while 72 people were hospitalized.
Bengaluru logged 592 Covid-19 cases in 24 hours on Monday - nearly all of the 617 cases reported across the state in the same period. Fortunately no Covid-related deaths were recorded. The cumulative total of Covid-19 cases in the southern state is over 39.6 lakh.
As many as 19 districts reported no new coronavirus infections in 24 hours. Those that did saw very few new cases (apart from Bengaluru); Dakshina Kannada reported seven, Mysuru four and Udupi, Uttara Kannada and Ballari three each. Daily bulletins released by the health department said 767 people were discharged after treatment across the state; 715 from Bengaluru.
Active cases in Karnataka are 4,288 and the state has a positivity rate of 3.12%. Bengaluru's positivity rate is marginally higher at 3.52%.
19,757 tests - 11,592 in Bengaluru - were conducted in Karnataka. The total number of tests so far in the state is 6.69 crore.

Vaccination was ramped up Monday with 57,855 people inoculated. Total vaccinations are 11.16 crore so far. 5,232 people were administered vaccines in Bengaluru on Monday.
72 people were hospitalised for Covid-19; 59 in the general ward, 10 in intensive care units and three in high-dependency units. There are 22 active clusters in Bengaluru.
