55-year-old man becomes latest victim of Covid in Mohali
Amid the rising infections, this was the third Covid-related death in Mohali district in the past 15 days
A 55-year-old man became the latest victim of Covid-19 in Mohali on Monday, even as tricity’s active cases once again crossed the 1000 mark after over four months.
The deceased patient, a resident of Kakoli Chhat, Mohali, was also suffering from sepsis and died at the civil hospital in Phase 6.
Amid the rising cases, this was the third Covid death in Mohali district in the past 15 days.
Earlier, on June 24, a 51-year-old man from Samgoli village, near Dera Bassi, had died at a private hospital. He also suffered from other ailments.
In terms of fresh cases, 121 people tested positive for the virus across the tricity, down from 130 on Sunday.
Chandigarh led the daily tally with 52 infections, Mohali logged 42 cases and Panchkula 27.
This pushed their cumulative active cases to 1,001, including 502 in Chandigarh, 286 in Mohali and 213 in Panchkula. At the beginning of the month, the tricity had 187 active cases.
