Injured pilgrim Sahib Sahani also hailed from Gorakhpur.

“Sarvan and Sahib worked as labourers in Katra town and had come to pay obeisance at the holy cave shrine at Shiv Khori. Following the incident, the pilgrimage was suspended for some time,” said a police officer.

The Shiva cave shrine witnesses a huge rush of pilgrims during shivaratri and month of sawaan.

“The incident took place in the afternoon when pilgrimage was on. The injured pilgrim was shifted to Reasi district hospital,” the cop said.

“A pilgrim from Uttar Pradesh and other from Rajouri was killed when they were hit by a shooting stone near traditional cave at Shiv Khori Shrine,” said Reasi deputy commissioner Babila Rakwal, who is also the vice-chairperson of Shri Shiv Khori shrine.
