4 including minor arrested for robberies in Ulhasnagar

A petty thief from Nanded came to Vithalwadi for his niece’s birthday with his three friends including a minor. During the course of his stay with his niece, his friends broke into six houses in three nights and stole around ₹12 lakh worth jewellery. All of them have been arrested by Hill Line police team in Ulhasnagar on Tuesday.
Nanded resident, Raju Mire, 35, came to Nevali, Vitthalwadi area, to his sister’s house for his niece’s fifth birthday. According to Hill Line police, the accused reached here on July 21 evening. Since then for three consecutive mornings, he and his three aides conducted recce of the nearby area and broke into whichever house they found was closed.
An officer from Hill Line police station said, “The accused, within three nights, broke into six houses in Nevali. After we received complaints and saw the same pattern of break-ins, we kept a vigil in the nearby areas. Through sources, our team got the lead and the team went to the house of the accused’s sister. We found gold and cash of ₹12 lakh in his bag. The team arrested the three accused while the fourth one was a minor. We got to know that the accused had criminal background in different cities.”
