Navi Mumbai cops arrest Nigerian with drugs worth R3.3 lakh
Officers from the Property Department and Anti-narcotics Cell (ANC) arrested a Nigerian national and recovered mephedrone (MD) rock and mephedrone (MD) powder worth Rs3.30 lakh.
Ugochukwu John Neadi ,37, a resident of Diva was arrested following a tip-off received by inspector Maya More about him coming to Kopar Khairane, in Navi Mumbai, to sell the drugs.
Accordingly a trap was laid and Neadi was arrested around 2.45 am on Thursday from outside Janvikas Society, located at plot 18A of Sector-11.
More said, “Following his arrest, we recovered a bag containing 85 gm of crystallised mephedrone and 25 gm of powdered mephedrone, collectively worth Rs 3,30,500. He had come here with the sole intention of selling the drugs.”
A case was been registered against Neadi at Kopar Khairane police station and he was booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
