Lalganj Election Results 2019: Lalganj parliamentary constituency, one of the 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh, is reserved for members of Scheduled Castes.

Voters have not elected the same party back to the Lalganj Lok Sabha seat since 1996, when the Bahujan Samaj Party’s candidate Bali Ram won the election. The next general election saw Samajwadi Party’s Daroga Prasad Saroj bagging the seat in 1998 and this continued till 2009.

Neelam Sonkar helped the Bharatiya Janata Party win this seat for the first time in the last general election in 2014. According to the election results 2019, Sangeeta Azad from the Bahujan Samaj Party is leading presently while Bhartiya Janta Party’s Neelam Sonkar, Ajit Kumar Sonkar of AAP and Congress candidate Pankaj Mohan Sonkar trail.

Atrauliya, Nizamabad, Phoolpur Pawai, Didarganj and Lalganj are the six assembly segments which come under the Lalganj Lok Sabha seat. Lalganj is dominated by Muslims and Dalits and is a part of Azamgarh district, which is considered a bastion of the Samajwadi Party.

Uttar Pradesh saw polls in all the seven phases of the Lok Sabha election 2019. Votes will be counted on May 23.
