The conditions were hot and humid on Monday morning and the endeavour was to avoid the evening showers that have been a regular feature for the past few days.
"It has been raining in the evenings so we considered that and decided to practice in the morning. The weather has been extreme and it is very tiring," Dhoni told Hindustan Times after practice.
The skipper took a long look at the shiny dark-coloured pitch and exchanged notes with the ground staff. "It looks like it will assist spin and should behave the way it did in the match on Sunday (in which spinners took 9 of the 18 wickets)," said Dhoni. "But the ball is not turning in the practice pitches," he signed before opting for some extra practice with Robin.
