Rahul finished with 112, with 9 fours and 2 sixes. India were reduced to 62 for 3 as Mayank Agarwal (3), Virat Kohli (9) and Prithvi Shaw (44) failed to get big scores. 15:20 hrs: Henry Nicholls has been named as the man of the match for his 80 during chase. Ross Taylor, centurion in first ODI and half-centurion of second ODI, has been named as the player of the series.

15:15 hrs: Stat attack: Colin de Gramhomme’s fifty is the joint 3rd fastest half-century against India in ODIs. This is his fourth fifty in 50-over format. He put together an 80-run stand with Latham to take the team over the line.

15:10 hrs: NZ win! Colin de Grandhomme hits the winning runs as Kiwis win the match by 5 wickets. With that they win the series 3-0 and complete a series whitewash. West Indies last inflicted a series whitewash on India in 1989 and since then, this is the first time India have been blanked in a series.

15:05 hrs: Bumrah concedes three runs off his final over of the innings as New Zealand now need just 1 run off 18 deliveries.

15:00 hrs: Fifty: De Grandhomme slams 20 runs off Shardul Thakur and with that he completes his half-century off 21 deliveries. NZ now need just 4 runs off 24 deliveries.

14:55 hrs: Jasprit Bumrah bowls onto the pads of CDG and the right-hander flicks the ball towards cow corner for a boundary. With that, the fifty partnership also comes up between Latham and de Grandhomme. Kiwis need 24 off 30 deliveries.

14:50 hrs: Saini bowls short and Latham comes down the track and flat bats it right past the bowlers for a boundary. 10 runs off that over from Saini as Kiwis need 32 off 36 deliveries.

14:45 hrs: 250 up for NZ! Shardul Thakur drops the ball short and Colin de Grandhomme pulls it for a big six over mid wicket. He follows it up with a boundary towards cow corner. Kiwis now need 42 off 42.

14:40 hrs: Good over for Kiwis! Colin de Grandhomme hits a huge six over mid-wicket off Yuzvendra Chahal, who concedes 12 runs in the over. Chahal finishes with 3/47 in 10 overs.

14:35 hrs: Bumrah has done well in his second spell as he has bowled two overs and given away just seven runs, without conceding any boundary. One more wicket for India here will put pressure on the visitors.

14:30 hrs: OUT! Chahal picks his third wicket of the innings as he gets rid of Neesham. Pressure gets the better of the batsman and he hits the ball into the hands of Kohli. Kiwis have lost half their side as the hosts are once again choking under pressure.

14:25 hrs: Partnership building! India should be cautious against these two as Latham and Neesham are displaying good positive cricket. The duo have added 27 runs off 31 deliveries and are taking Kiwis closer to the target.

14:20 hrs: 200 up for Kiwis! Jadeja bowls a length delivery and Latham goes onto the backfoot and hits the ball past the point fielder for a boundary. With that, Kiwis have also crossed the 200-run mark in 36 overs.

14:14 hrs: Huge hit from James Neesham and it releases some of the pressure. Short delivery from Shardul and Neesham smashed him for a huge six over backward point. Seven runs from that over from Shardul and he has now conceded 48 runs in 7 overs.

14:09 hrs: Stat attack: This is now Nicholl’s highest score against India in ODIs. Also, this is the 20th time he has been dismissed caught out in 50-over format.

14:04 hrs: OUT! Shardul Thakur picks his first wicket of the innings as he gets rid of Henry Nicholls for 80. Shardul bowled wide and Nicholls attacked it and ended up edging the ball into the hands of keeper Kl Rahul. Kiwis are four down now as James Neesham joins Tom Latham in the middle.

13:58 hrs: OUT! New Zealand have lost third wicket of the innings as Ravindra Jadeja gets rid of Ross Taylor for 12. The right-hander hits the ball into the hands of Virat Kohli in the covers. India are somewhat back in the game.

13:53 hrs: As things stand, Kiwis are in pole position to win the match. They need 118 off 114 deliveries and have eight wickets in hand. Nicholls is the set batsman while Taylor is the in-form batsman. India need couple of wickets to have any say in the outcome of the clash.

13:48 hrs: Good pick and throw from KL Rahul but Ross Taylor was able to make his ground in time and India will have to wait a bit more for the breakthrough. 29.2 overs gone and New Zealand are 171 for the loss of two wickets.

13:42 hrs: Short from Navdeep Saini and Henry Nicholls slammed him for a boundary through fine leg. He is looking in prime form at the moment and the second ball is also guided to the boundary through mid wicket. Exquisite batting! NZ 167/2

13:37 hrs: Great reflexes from Mayank Agarwal as Kane Williamson departs for 22. Williamson wanted to hit Yuzvendra Chahal through mid-wicket but could only manage to deposit the ball straight into Agarwal’s hands. NZ 159/2

13:33 hrs: Two no-balls in the over for Navdeep Saini but both decisions looked quite contentious. The first free-hit did not provide any run but the next one was guided to the boundary by Kane Williamson.

13:24 hrs: 25 overs gone and New Zealand need 153 runs to win. The Kiwis will be extremely happy with how the match has gone till now and with nine wickets in hand, they are firm favourites at the moment.

13:17 hrs: Fifty for Henry Nicholls! Another good knock from the opener as New Zealand are looking really confident in the run chase. With the help of five boundaries, he reached the milestone in 72 balls.

13:11 hrs: Dearth of boundaries! Jadeja and Chahal have managed to keep a hold on the scoring rate after the dismissal of Taylor. Only one four has been scored after Guptill’s wicket and no boundaries in the last 27 deliveries.

13:06 hrs: Another wicket for here for India will blow the match wide open. Kane Williamson has replaced Guptill at the crease but Kiwis continue to score runs comfortably. Nicholls is also approaching his half-century.

13:00 hrs: Stat attack: This is the 1st time Chahal has dismissed Guptill in ODIs. This is the 21st time the Kiwis opener has been dismissed bowled out. This is the 5th time Gutill has been dismissed bowled by spin bowler.

12:55 hrs: Bowled! Easily the ball of the innings from Yuzvendra Chahal as he castles Martin Guptill for 66. The ball lands on leg stumps and turns spectacularly to hit the off-stump. India get their first breakthrough of the innings.

12:50 hrs: Century stand! Full and wide from Shardul Thakur and Nicholls plays the perfect cover drive for his fourth boundary of the innings. With that, New Zealand have crossed the 100-run mark in 15th over.

12:45 hrs: Ravindra Jadeja has now bowled two overs and conceded 10 runs. The good part is that he has given away any boundary so far. Kiwis are nearing the 100-run mark in the chase as India still searching for their first breakthrough.

12:40 hrs: Stat attack! 37th Half century in ODIs, 6th against India, 22nd at home, 2nd of year 2020. India need to remove him soon or risk chance of having the match getting finished soon.

12:35 hrs: Fifty for Guptill! New Zealand’s impressive start continues as Guptill brings up his half-century off just 29 deliveries. A six and four off Shardul Thakur means Guptill goes past 50 while New Zealand take their run-rate to over seven.

12:29 hrs: 10 overs bowled: The partnership has reached 65 off 60 deliveries as Guptill and Nicholls continue to score freely. Kiwis required rate has come down to 5.8 and that is a good sign for the home side. Indian bowlers are looking a bit clueless at the moment.

12:23 hrs: Spin introduced: Yuzvendra Chahal replaces Navdeep Saini into the attack and goes for 7 runs in the over. Three single came from first three deliveries but the last ball was short and Guptill hit it towards cow corner for his fifth four of the innings

12:18 hrs: Fifty up for Kiwis! Astonishing shot from Guptill as he pulls Bumrah for a 85m six over mid wickets. A straight drive followed and that brought up 50-run stand between the openers. Kiwis are flying here in the run chase.

12:13 hrs: 4,6,4! Saini concedes 15 runs in the over as Guptill and Nicholls punish for his poor length. He bowled on to the pads of Guptill and he flicked it for a six. The next one was a yorker and it was flicked for a boundary. Nichools joined the party and hit the last for a four down the ground.

12:08 hrs: The hitting is being done by Guptill as Nicholls is content with just giving him back the strike. This opening stand can prove to be dangerous if given times. So far so good for the Kiwis as they are off to a brisk start in the chase.

12:02 hrs: Bumrah and Saini have hit back strongly after conceding boundaries in their respective opening overs. After 17 runs in first two overs, Kiwis could muster only 6 in the next two. But India need early breakthroughs to put the pressure on batsmen.

11:56 hrs: First six of the innings: Guptill now takes the attack to Navdeep Saini and hits him for a four and six in the over. The boundary was lucky as the ball took and inside edge and missed the stumps. As for the six, luck played no part as Guptill hit the ball over fine leg for the first maximum of the innings.

11:51 hrs: Guptill hits the first boundary off the innings as he hits a Bumrah delivery through the covers. India need to pick up early wickets to put pressure on the hosts.

11:46 hrs: Martin Guptill and Henry Nicholls are opening the innings for New Zealand in their 297-run chase. As for India, Jasprit Bumrah has the new ball in his hands and he will bowl the first over.

11:36 hrs: World record: Shreyas Iyer now holds the record for best percentage of 50+ scores in ODIs. The right-hander has nine 50+ scores in 16 innings in 50-over format and his percentage reads 56.25.

11:26 hrs: First of its kind record : Rahul etched his name in history books as he became the first India batsman to score a century against Kiwis in New Zealand while coming to bat at number five or below.

11:16 hrs: A boundary to finish! Navdeep Saini ends India’s innings on a high with a boundary over mid off. They fall short of the 300-run mark but they would be happy with 296 for 7 after losing their top 3 for 62.

11:14 hrs: Jadeja improvises and gets four in return. He knew Southee will bowl the cutter on mid-pitch. Jadeja moved across and scooped it past the short fine-leg fielder to get a much-needed boundary for India.

11:12 hrs: 1 over to go! Brilliant over from Bennett, he finishes with 4 for 64 in his 10 and India are 284 for 7 after 49 overs.

11:09 hrs: Inside edge for four! A lemon cut? A French cut? Call it whatever you want to but Saini would say he got off the mark with a boundary in the 49th over.

11:06 hrs: India losing their way! A high full toss from Bennett, Thakur goes for the big heave but ends up getting a top edge, Grandhomme makes no mistake. The umpires check for No ball on height but the third umpire says it’s fine, so Thakur has to go for 7.

11:04 hrs: 10 runs from the 48th! Just the one boundary from Shardul Thakur’s bat, otherwise a very good over from Tim Southee. India are 280 for 6 with 2 to play, can they get to 300?

10:57 hrs: Two-in-two! It’s falling apart in the slog overs for India. First Rahul, then Manish Pandey, Bennett has taken away India’s chances of crossing 310. Pandey departs for 42

10:55 hrs: Rahul departs for 112! No mistakes this time around from Jamieson. Poetic justice for Bennett. Identical delivery, identical shot from the Rahul but the result is entirely different as Jamieson holds on to the catch. Rahul’s brilliant innings comes to an end for 112.

10:53 hrs: Jamieson pumps it for SIX! Straight through the hands of Kyle Jamieson. Oh that should have been taken by the tall man at long off. A full delivery by Bennett, Rahul goes for the big one but doesn’t the elevation, it goes straight to Jamieson, who tips it over the ropes.

10:50 hrs: No boundaries! Only 7 runs from Mitchell Santner’s last over, he finishes with 0 for 59. But the boundaries are not coming for India.

10:43 hrs: 100 for KL Rahul! A short-arm pull shot to square-leg and KL Rahul scampers through for a couple to bring up his 4th ODI HUNDRED, it has been a brilliant innings from the right-hander.

10:38 hrs: Manish Pandey survives! That would have been a run out but Mitchell Santner knocked the bails off with his right knee before gathering the ball. Pandey was nowhere in the picture, a lucky break for India.

10:33 hrs: SIX! What an effortless shot that from KL Rahul. He let his wrists do the job there, just a flick and it lands deep into the grassy banks in the fine-leg region. Rahul is just 10 away now from a brilliant hundred.

10:30 hrs: Manish Pandey on the charge! He was itching, he was just looking to go big in this over and finally gets one. A brilliant shot for four. Santner provides some air, Pandey dances down the track and hits it straight over the bowler’s head. 11 runs from the over.

10:25 hrs: 40 overs bowled! 4 runs from the Santner over and India have reached 217 for 4 at the end of the 40 overs. With KL Rahul and Manish Pandey set, India should eye nothing less than 320 from here on.

10:20 hrs: Fifty partnership! A single and it brings up the fifty partnership between KL Rahul and Manish Pandey. They have done a good job after a 100-run stand between Iyer and Rahul.

10:17 hrs: FOUR! Pressure reliving shot from Raul. Santner bowls it down the leg side, Rahul gets down and paddles it fine down the leg side for a single.

10:13 hrs: Rubbing salt into the wounds! New Zealand missed an opportunity to get Rahul run out and then in the next ball he drives one past mid-off for a boundary.

10:04 hrs: FOUR! Poor from Neesham, down the leg side and it’s all way to easy for KL Rahul. He just glances it fine to collect an easy boundary. Neesham has lacked consistency, he has given a boundary ball every over.

9:53 hrs: FOUR! Pleasing to the eye. A fuller length delivery from Neesham, Rahul plays a picture-perfect on drive. And it races away past the diving mid-on fielder.

9:49 hrs: Fifty for KL Rahul! A nice punch deep backward point by KL Rahul. He will comeback for the second run and it brings up his half-century, second of the series.

9:42 hrs: Shreyas Iyer departs for 62! Leading edge and gone! That has come against the run of play. Neesham may have put in extra effort on that delivery, Iyer just closed his bat face a but too early, it took the leading edge and a good catch at mid-wicket from Grandhomme. Key moment in the game.

9:39 hrs: Productive over for India! 11 runs including 2 boundaries. This has been the story of the day. New Zealand have been guilty of bowling too many overs that yielded more than 10 runs, these have just released the pressure on India.

9:35 hrs: Glanced for FOUR! Poor delivery from Bennett, on the pads and all Rahul had to do was just get bat to ball it just races away fine for another boundary.

9:34 hrs: 150 up for India! A tap down fine-leg from KL Rahul, single and the India get to 150 in 29 overs. Going by the old Australian logic, you double the score from the 30-over mark, meaning India should get over 300, which should be a good score on this track.

9:24 hrs: Swept for FOUR! The was predetermined from KL Rahul. The good thing? He got the ideal ball for it. Full and into the pads, he bents down and sweeps it past square-leg for a boundary.

9:20 hrs: Back-to back-fours and that’s the fifty for Shreyas Iyer, his 8th one in ODIs. He has been the find of the series for India. 11 runs from the over and India are slowly but surely taking matters in their own hands.

9:17 hrs: Halfway through! 4 runs from Mitchell Santner’s fourth over, looks like India have decided not to take undue risks against Santner. After 25 overs India have reached 127 for 3. This partnership has added 65 runs off 78 balls.

9:13 hrs: 4 singles! Just the 4 singles from Jamieson’s over. He has been good, his extra bouncer has kept the Indian batsmen on their toes.

9:08 hrs: Driven through covers for four! Superb shot from Shreyas Iyer. He is dream form at the moment. A flighted delivery on stump, a bit too full for comfort, Iyer plants his front foot and drives it past the cover fielder for a boundary.

9:04 hrs: Lofted shot for four! Full and wide from Neesham, Iyer had no intentions of keeping that down. He lofts it over the in field and it bounces away from the deep point fielder and goes for a boundary.

8:58 hrs: 100 up for India! A confident tap down to mid on and KL Rahul is off in flash. Complete the singles comfortably, which brings up India’s 100 in 20 overs. The run rate is good, this partnership needs to carry on.

8:50 hrs: Outside edge and FOUR! Shreyas Iyer flashes at that wide one from Neesham and it flies away fine for a boundary.

8:40 hrs: Rahul pulls it for four! A nothing delivery from Southee. Rahul swivels around and pulls it with a wrist-roll backward of square leg. He managed to bisect fine leg and deep square leg to perfection.

8:33 hrs: Iyer goes down the ground for four! Great shot. A fuller length delivery, Iyer presents the full face and just strokes it past the bowler. This is the pair for India. Iyer and Rahul are the men in form.

8:28 hrs: Rahul is away! Great way to get off the mark. A Back of a length and outside off, Rahul rides the bounce and punches it square right between the point and ocver point fielder, great timing from the India keeper-batsman.

8:23 hrs: RUN OUT! That’s a disaster for India, Prithvi Shaw is run out for 40. They never looked like coming back for a second. Shreyas Iyer was jogging and suddenly Shaw decides to go for the second run. Granhomme at fine-leg did a fine job by picking it up cleanly and letting the throw in quickly. Even a dive was not enough for Shaw.

8:19 hrs: Maiden from Bennett! Good comeback from Hamish Bennett after conceding 16 in the previous over. Shreyas Iyer has decided to buy his time and rightly so.

8:10 hrs: Another SIX! 50 up for India! Prithvi Shaw is on fire here. Short again, this time on the off side and no half measures from Shaw, he cuts it over covers for the second six of the over. 16 runs from it, another big over India.

8:08 hrs: Pulled for SIX! What a shot that is. Boy this guy is some talent. An attempted bouncer from Bennett but with no effort, the ball sits up nicely and Shaw rocks back to pull it over square-leg for six.

8:06 hrs: Good over from Jamieson! 3 runs from it. He is using his height to great affect. His line has been outside off but extra bounce has not let Shaw to hit him over he infield.

8:00 hrs: Kohli departs! Virat Kohli has hit it straight down the throat of the third man fielder. He didn’t look comfortable at all. He tried to hit his way out and that is clearly not his way. A short delivery from Bennett, Kohli goes at it with hard hands, gets a top edge, it flies to third man and Jamieson takes a good catch.

7:54 hrs: Up and over and four! The line was wrong from Jamieson, too much width outside off and Prithvi Shaw just upper cuts it over backward point for his second boundary. India looking to be positive despite the early wicket.

7:51 hrs: Productive over for India! 10 runs from it and a clear intention from Kohli of tying to unsettle the rhythm of Tim Southee.

7:48 hrs: Kohli goes big! That came out of nowhere, SIX! What happened there? The ball is seaming around and Virat Kohli just dances down the track and dismisses the length from his presence over the mid-wicket boundary for a six. That is one way to counter the swing. This is exciting stuff.

7:46 hrs: Boundary through point! That was crunched off the backfoot by Prithvi Shaw. Width provided by Jamieson and this time the ball did not bounce much. Shaw will never miss out on those, first boundary of the day.

7:43 hrs: Plays and misses! Time Southee has already won the first battle against Virat Kohli. He has beaten the India captain twice in this over. Quiet uncharacteristic from Kohli to be honest, he flashed on the off side and then went for a flick shot to ball outside off stump.

7:40 hrs: BOWLED! What a start for New Zealand. A peach of a delivery from Jamieson. It pitches on a length, holds its line, Agarwal tries to work it through the on side instead of presenting the full face of the bat and pays the price. The ball hits the top of off stump. Agarwal goes for 1 and Jamieson has given the ideal start to New Zealand.

7:37 hrs: Nice shot for 3! A shortish delivery outside off, Prtigvi Shaw does well to ride the bounce off the ball and punch it through the off-side field. It wasn’t timed perfectly but Shaw and Agaral will comeback for three.

7:33 hrs: Mayank Agarwal gets off the mark! A thick outside edge to thirdman for a single. Not the ideal way to start off your innings but Mayank Agarwal will take it. Both the Indian openers have opened their accounts in the first over.

7:30 hrs: Off the mark straightaway! On the pads and Prithvi Shaw just works it towards the onside. They will come back for two. A nice way to start the innings for the India opener.

7:29 hrs: Prithvi Shaw and Mayank Agarwal have another opportunity to stake a claim for the ODI opener’s spot. They will be up against Tim Southee, who has the new ball for New Zealand.

7:24 hrs: Unfamiliar territory for captain Kohli! This is the first time India are facing a whitewash scenario in ODIs under Virat Kohli’s captaincy. Captain Kohli has never gone into a dead rubber with the series already lost. The last time India were whitewashed in a bilateral ODI series involving three or more matches was in 1989 against West Indies.

7:20 hrs: Pitch report! According to VVS Laxman and Scott Styris, the pitch on offer at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui is rock solid beneath. They say there may be assisantance for the seamers early as there is some grass cover but once the moisture dries out it will be good for batting.

7:16 hrs:We wanted to bat first anyway. As Kane said, it’s a new wicket, looks pretty nice from the outside. Just a hard surface and good grass on it. Plus we wanted to put up a total on the board as we’ve spoken about. We don’t have anything to lose, so we can go out there and play positive cricket,” said India captain Virat Kohli.

7:14 hrs: “Obviously a new surface, yes a few unknowns. We will have to wait and see, usually it’s a good surface. The fight throughout, something that we can be proud of. Staying in there and putting the pressure on the opposition. India has been really pleasing to see, so hopefully we can keep continuing some of those things,” said New Zealand captain Kane Williamson.

7:10 hrs: India (Playing XI) Prithvi Shaw, Mayank Agarwal, Virat Kohli(c), Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Lokesh Rahul(w), Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Navdeep Saini, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah

New Zealand (Playing XI): Martin Guptill, Henry Nicholls, Kane Williamson(c), Ross Taylor, Tom Latham(w), James Neesham, Colin de Grandhomme, Mitchell Santner, Tim Southee, Kyle Jamieson, Hamish Bennett

7:07 hrs: One change for India, Two changes for New Zealand! India have brought in Manish Pandey in place of Kedar Jadhav. New Zealand, on the other hand, have got Williamson in place of Blundell and Mitchell Santner replaces Mark Chapman.

7:00 hrs: New Zealand captain Kane Williamson has won the toss and he has decided to bowl first.

6:52 hrs: Can Southee get Kohli again? It is your job to take wickets...And Virat is a great player and he has been in great form. Especially in run chases he is exceptional, so I guess it’s always nice to see the back of him. I didn’t know that was the most...,” said Tim Southee.

6:46 hrs: ‘Understanding grounds important’! “There are no grounds alike in New Zealand, so it is very important to understand the ground dimensions. How to bowl, etc. In each game, as a bowler, you may have to change your plan because the last game in Auckland, straight boundaries were short,” said India pacer Shardul Thakur ahead of the 3rd ODI.

6:42 hrs: Changes likely for India! Will Rishabh Pant get a game? Will Manish Pandey slot in the middle order? Will India rest Jasprit Bumrah? Chances are all these questions might get an affirmative response as India look to make full use of the final match before the Test series.

6:40 hrs: Kane Williamson to be back! Regular New Zealand captain Kane Williamson had a full session on the eve of the India vs New Zealand 3rd ODI. He is set to return after missing out the final two T20Is and the first two ODIs against India.

6:35 hrs: A bright and sunny afternoon at Mount Maunganui
