The Australia left-hander is also the first overseas cricketer to score 5000 IPL runs. Warner, who has four hundreds to his name, is fourth on the list of all-time highest scorers in the IPL behind Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, and Rohit Sharma.

Warner surprised everyone when did not walk out to open the batting with Jonny Bairstow in SRH’s 164-run chase.

Williamson opened for SRH and got out for 29 off 19 balls. Warner came in to bat at No.4 and scored an unbeaten 47 off 33 balls, which is not enough to take his side over the line.

Needing 18 runs off the last over, Warner hit an injured Andre Russell for two fours but failed to scored 2 runs off the last ball as the match went into a Super Over.

Lockie Ferguson bowled an exceptional Super Over to lead Kolkata Knight Riders to a thrilling win. The New Zealand fast bowler, who was playing his first match in this year’s IPL, cleaned up David Warner and Abu Samad in the first three balls of the Super Over.

Needing 3 to win, Dinesh Karthik and Eoin Morgan did not take much to finish off the game against Rashid Khan.

Abdul Samad and David Warner stitched a 37-run partnership to help Sunrisers Hyderabad push the match to a Super Over. SRH found themselves in trouble after going down 109/4 in the 16th over, with still 55 runs to complete the chase. But Samad hammered 23 runs in 15 balls, before being dismissed by Shivam Mavi, to help SRH reach closer to the target. Warner scored 47 in 33 balls to push the game to a tie.

Earlier, Dinesh Karthik’s carefree approach was well complemented by skipper Eoin Morgan’s grace as Kolkata Knight Riders managed a par 163 for five.

Karthik (29 not out) and Morgan (34 off 23 balls) joined forces at 105 for four and added 58 runs in the last five overs after 150 was looking a tall-order at one stage.
