IPL Final 2019: Prize money on offer and all the other awards, cash reward - Everything to know

Apart from the trophy and a fourth IPL crown, the winning skipper will also march away with a prize money of ₹20 crore.

Mumbai Indians will take on the Chennai Super Kings in the final of this year’s IPL and this clash promises to be a real humdinger as both sides have won the trophy thrice. Although, Mumbai have got the better the CSK in all the three matches between the two sides across the season, the experience and temperament of MS Dhoni and his team always come through in crunch matches.

Apart from the trophy and a fourth IPL crown, the winning skipper will also march away with a prize money of 20 crore. 50 per cent of this prize money will go to the franchise and the rest of the amount will be divided between the players. The runner-up will also be richer by 12.5 crore. The third and fourth teams in playoffs, will get 10.5 crore and 8.5 crore respectively.

There are plenty of other categories and awards which will be up for grabs. An Emerging player is picked and awarded, the criteria of which is as following - a player who is born after 1 April 1993, has played 5 or fewer Test matches or 20 less ODIs, have played in 25 or less IPL matches (at the start of the season) and has never won this award in the earlier seasons.

The batsman who has scored the maximum runs wins the orange cap award as well as 10 lakhs. David Warner, with 692 runs, is all but certain to clinch this accolade this year.

A purple cap as well as a cash prize of 10 lakhs is also awarded to a bowler who has taken the maximum wickets in the season gone by.

Also, the batsman with the highest strike-rate will drive away a Tata Harrier SUV car. The player who played with the most flair and poise will be named the FBB Stylish Player of the Season award and will be awarded 10 lakh as prize money.
