Sachin Tendulkar lands in Dharamsala, likely to meet Dalai Lama

Sachin Tendulkar arrived on a three-day visit to Dharamshala on Tuesday during which he is likely to visit Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama. Tendulkar was received by Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association officials at Gaggal Airport.

The 45-year-old Bharat Ratna awardee is in Dharamsala to lay the foundation stone of a cricket museum to be set up by the HPCA at its picturesque stadium in the foothills of the Dhauladhar mountains.

A wax statue of Tendulkar will also be set up in the museum which will showcase the maestro’s gloves, pads, jerseys, bats among other articles. Besides Tendulkar’s statue, the museum will also feature statues of Kapil Dev, Rahul Dravid and Anil Kumble, along with replicas of trophies India have won.

HPCA spokesperson Sanjay Sharma said Tendulkar will also inaugurate a cricket centre of excellence set up by Asian Cricket Council at Dharamshala stadium.
