Sidebottom injury on the mend
According to an official statement, a scan on the England bowler's injured left side reveals 'no significant damage'.
A scan on England bowler Ryan Sidebottom's injured left side revealed "no significant damage" according to an England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) statement issued on Saturday.
Nottinghamshire left-arm quick Sidebottom didn't bowl after lunch on the second day of the third and final Test against India at The Oval.
The statement added that the 29-year-old Sidebottom "would continue to receive treatment today (Saturday) and be reassessed tomorrow (Sunday)".
Sidebottom bowled 32 overs, conceding 93 runs, with one wicket as India piled up 664 - their highest Test innings total against England.
England, 1-0 down in the series, need to win to preserve their six-year unbeaten record in home Test campaigns.
They resumed on the third day at The Oval on Saturday on 24 for one - still needing a further 441 runs to avoid the follow-on.
