1 girl dead, 17 children injured in Delhi after school van rammed by truck
The accident occurred in the morning when the children were on their way to school.
A seven-year-old girl was killed and 17 other students injured in a road accident on Thursday morning, police said.
The students of two north Delhi schools were caught in the mishap when their school van collided with a tanker near Kanhaiya Nagar metro station in north-west Delhi.
“All 18 children in the school van were injured. Nine of them have been referred to hospitals like AIIMS trauma centre, Sushruta trauma centre and Lok Nayak Hospital,” said the deputy commissioner of police (north-west) Aslam Khan.
The children were students at Keshavpuram’s Kendriya Vidyalaya and School Number 1, and deceased girl has been identified as Garima alias Saksh, she added.
The students were on their way to school in a Maruti Omni van when it was rammed from behind by a tanker, said the officer.
