Bollywood actor Sanya Malhotra says Delhi is a food and shopping haven for her. She also recalls the time when her mother used to cook and send food for her co-actors on the sets of her film Badhaai Ho.

Apart from the regular touristy expeditions, actor Sanya Malhotra suggests that one must never miss the mouth-watering dishes available on the streets of Delhi. From chaat and sweets to chole bhature, Sanya insists that if you’re in Delhi, food should be on top of your must-have list.

Sanya Malhotra will be seen next in a Anurag Basu directorial.

“That’s what I miss the most when I am in Mumbai. Every time my parents and sister visit me, I make sure my mother cooks chole bhature for me. She makes the best chole bhature in the world. I remember while we were shooting for Badhaai Ho (2018) in Delhi, my mother used to cook for everyone and send it to the sets,” adds the true blue Delhiite.

Sanya admits that she feels homesick at times and that’s when she dials her family and they soon fly down to her Mumbai home. “Every time we are together we are not just going around gorging on good food but we also enjoy playing Ludo,” smiles the Bollywood star.

Sanya, a Gargi College alumna, recommends places such as Lodhi Garden and Champa Gali to visit when in Delhi... But why these places? “I used to hang out a lot at these places while growing up in Delhi. Hence the list. The other popular destinations are something that everyone knows about, so anyway people would go there,” she continues, “There is so much to explore in Delhi. The city has many interesting experiences in terms of places and foods to offer. There are so many options that one is usually spoilt for choice.”

Is there anything else that she misses about Delhi? “Yes, shopping at Sarojini Nagar,” laughs Sanya before adding, “I used to shop so much from there. You get such nice, trendy clothes and that too within your budget. I love wearing brands and all but Sarojini Nagar is at a different league altogether. I used to go there every week, bargain and stuff my bag,” she smiles.
