Nursing attendant found dead in Delhi’s private hospital
Delhi Police said that the nursing attendant may have been under depression. No suicide note was found.
A 23-year-old nursing attendant at a private hospital in northwest Delhi’s Prashant Vihar was found dead in the bathroom of the intensive care unit (ICU) on Monday.
Police suspect it to be a case of suicide as the door was bolted from inside, but no suicide note was recovered.
Police said the deceased, Rahul, was depressed after his wife allegedly deserted him a few months ago. They suspect Rahul may have injected himself with poison. The police are waiting for the autopsy report to know the exact cause of death.
“We have initiated an inquiry into the incident,” said Rishipal, deputy commissioner of police (Rohini), adding that the hospital authorities reported Rahul’s demise in the early hours of Monday, hours after he went missing.
Rahul’s body was found by another attendant who broke the bathroom door open and found him lying unconscious. He was declared dead after careful examination by doctors.
