2G case: Anil Ambani, Tina Ambani move SC

Reliance Telecom Limited (RTL) and Shahid Balwa on Monday moved the Supreme Court against trial court’s order to summon Reliance ADAG chairman Anil Ambani and wife Tina Ambani as prosecution witnesses in the 2G case.
Reliance Telecom Limited (RTL) and Shahid Balwa on Monday moved the Supreme Court against trial court’s order to summon Reliance ADAG chairman Anil Ambani and wife Tina Ambani as prosecution witnesses in the 2G case. RTL and Balwa are accused in the case. Their counsel made an urgent appeal before a bench headed by Chief Justice P Sathasivam, who will hear the matter Tuesday.
Later in the day, the special CBI court in Patiala Courts fixed July 26 for Anil to appear and depose as prosecution witness. The summoning orders were signed after CBI submitted a list of five witnesses, including Anil, to be called for recording their statements.
