Bhushan attackers Tejinder Bagga, Vishnu Gupta arrested

The Delhi Police on Thursday arrested Tejinder Pal Singh Bagga and Vishnu Gupta. Tejinder Pal Singh Bagga who along with his aides assaulted lawyer Prashant Bhushan on Wednesday had earlier said, they would court arrest.

Bhagat Singh Kranti Sena activists announced to the media that they will court arrest in Patiala House Court on Thursday at 11.30 am.

Bagga admitted that he has been actively involved with the BJP's Youth Wing but now operates under the banner of an organisation called the Bhagat Singh Kranti Sena. He also claimed that he had attacked Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Gilani and activist Arundhati Roy.

The third person who attacked Prashant Bhushan Inder Verma has already been arrested. He is reprotedly the president of a right wing group Sri Ram Sena.

Bhushan was attacked in his office on Wednesday allegedly for airing his views favouring plebiscite in Jammu & Kashmir.

The trio barged into Bhushan's chamber on Wednesday evening when he was being interviewed by a television crew on the government’s latest move to make Lokpal a constitutional body.

Caught unawares, a shocked Bhushan fought back. Verma, however, managed to overpower Bhushan and physically abused him.

The attacker was stopped by Bhushan’s assistant and some lawyers who were taken aback by the incident. Noticing an enraged group of lawyers, Verma’s two associates escaped. Before escaping, the attackers threw a bunch of pamphlets at the lawyers.

Tajinder Singh Bagga said he was present in Bhushan's chamber during the attack and dropped a pamphlet bearing his name in Bhushan's office.

The pamphlets claimed the attackers were members of the Bhagat Singh Kranti Sena and accused Bhushan of indulging in seditious activities.

It was later revealed that Verma was a resident of Karai village in Nangloi. A case of voluntarily causing hurt, criminal trespass and criminal conspiracy was registered against him and his accomplices.
