The family of an 11-year-old has accused a government hospital of neglect after it allegedly failed to detect a bullet lodged in the boy's head and sent him home after giving him some stitches.

Nakul was rushed to the Hedgewar hospital in east Delhi on February 2 when he started bleeding from head while sitting outside a temple in nearby Jagatpuri. The hospital denies the boy was a patient there.

A CT scan in a private hospital the next day showed a bullet in the boy's head. After an hour-long surgery the bullet, the origin of which is still a mystery, was removed. The boy is on his way to recovery.
