CBI joint director cremated in Madhya Pradesh
Harish Chandra Singh, joint director of CBI were cremated at his native place at Datia Fort, Madhya Pradesh.
Harish Chandra Singh, joint director (East) of CBI was cremated on Thursday at his native place at Datia Fort, Madhya Pradesh.
Singh (54) died yesterday of heart attack at his office in Kolkata.
CBI Director Vijay Shankar condoling his death said, "CBI has lost one of the most diligent Joint Directors. He will be remembered as one of the best investigators and supervisory officer."
Singh joined CBI as DSP in December 1978. After promotion he served CBI as Superintendent of Police (STF), Assistant Director (Interpol), DIG (Policy), DIG (Jaipur), DIG (Training) and Joint Director (East).
Singh also served in Railway Board on deputation. He was decorated with President's police medal for distinguished service and Police medal for meritorious service on Independence Day, 1996.
Singh has made immense contributions in investigations of sensitive cases relating to special crimes, economic affairs, Anti-corruption cases and made lasting contribution to CBI academy.
