A juvenile quarrel took an ugly turn when a Class 12 student allegedly attacked another student and injured him in a south Delhi school, police said.
A juvenile quarrel took an ugly turn on Saturday when a Class 12 student allegedly attacked another student with a sharp object and injured him in a south Delhi school, police said.
The victim, a Class 10 student of the Sarvodaya Vidyalaya in RK Puram Sector 2, was admitted to the Safdarjung hospital with wound injuries in stomach after a fellow student allegedly attacked him around 11 am.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Kumar Gyanesh said the two students had a fight on Friday over some issue but it went out of control Saturday when one of them attacked the other in front of others.
"We have detained the student who allegedly attacked and placed him under observation. A case would be registered when we verify his age. At present we are trying to recover the object used in the attack," Gyanesh said.
"The nature of the injury suggests that it was not a knife. The victim doesn't bear a deep stab injury and he is recovering," he added.
The police said the motive behind the attack was still unclear.
