DDA budget 2011-12: Expenditure projected at Rs 3,785.01 crore

The land development agency was directed by Lt. Governor and DDA chairman Tejendra Khanna to maintain these parks regularly and provide lights wherever necessary.

The issue was discussed during the presentation of the DDA budget estimates for 2011-12 and the revised estimates of budget for the year 2010-11 on Friday in during DDA’s meeting held at Raj Niwas. Expenditure for the year 2011-12 has been projected as Rs 3,785.01 crore as compared to Rs 3,225.99 crore in the revised estimates for the year 2010-11.

In the budget projection for the year 2011-12, there is an increased allocation of funds for land development, construction of houses and shops, provision for improvement and development of infrastructure, green development including bio-diversity parks etc, community facilities and transportation etc.

The allocation has also been made for improvement of Phirni roads of seven villages and R200 crore has been provided for development of land in areas like Rohini, Dwarka, Narela, Jasola and Mayur Vihar. The budget has also been allocated for community halls at Dwarka, Vasant Kunj, Paschim Vihar, Mahipalpur, Ashok Vihar, etc.

DDA will also develop and upgrade five district parks into model parks, including Swaran Jayanti Park at Rohini. In the next few months, DDA will provide 30,000 houses for the economically weaker sections, and the work on most of these flats is already in progress.

Other infrastructure projects include construction of flyovers, railway crossings and coverage of drains. DDA will also construct master plan roads in Rohini, Dwarka and Narela.

A budget provision of Rs 6.4 crore has been kept for development of the Yamuna river front. An area of 83 hectares is being developed under the scheme in the first phase at the western banks of River Yamuna behind Samadhi area.
