Delhi man evading arrest for 10 years held from Maharashtra
A 39-year-old man, who is on the run for the past ten years after jumping bail while serving life imprisonment for murdering a teenaged dancer, was arrested from Maharashtra's Thane, police said today.

Kulwant Rana had allegedly murdered a 17-year-old stage dancer Rani in 1992 in Tilak Nagar by pouring acid on her for not agreeing to marry him. He was convicted for life imprisonment in 1994 but later jumped bail in 2000.
He was absconding for the past ten years and presently residing in Thane, a senior police official said.
He filed an appeal against the conviction Delhi High Court and got bail. "His appeal was dismissed but he did not surrender," the official said.
The arrest came on Sunday after investigations into an input that Rana could be in Mumbai.
"A team was sent to Mumbai to trace the convict. They remained there from April 24 to May 2. Help of Mumbai Crime Branch was also taken by them and on May two, we got information about his whereabouts following which we arrested him," the official said.
