DJB to set up water efficiency bureau
The DJB will form a Bureau of Water Efficiency with experts from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to make Delhi a water-efficient city, HT reports.
The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) will form a Bureau of Water Efficiency with experts from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on board to carry out research and development on how to make Delhi a water-efficient city.
DJB CEO Arun Mathur agreed to set up the bureau at a meeting of the Water Task Force formed between the Board and CII late last year. The Bureau of Water Efficiency will have a cell for research in water conservation, reuse and recycling, a Jal Board statement said.
“The Task Force must take policy initiatives aimed at making Delhi a water-efficient city and towards this end, all such initiatives must be demonstrable at the ground level,” Mathur said. In the meeting, it was agreed that the Task Force should finalise policy guidelines to incentivise the use of water efficient devices to which the Task Force agreed.
