The accused, identified as Bhupender Singh Ahlawat, 22, Savindar, 22, Manjeet, 19, and Rahul Dabas, 21, were arrested on March 1, said DCP (outer) BS Jaiswal.
“The accused said they were also behind the firing incident that had taken place outside a property dealer’s shop in Rohini’s Sector 11 on February 28,” Jaiswal said.
Police said the accused disclosed that they were members and shooters of one Naveen alias Bali and Neeraj gang.
“They, on the directions of one Naveen who operates the gang from Rohtak Jail, used to threaten industrialists in Bawana area to extort money. Besides, they used to receive money from various builders and industrialists based in the outer district,” Jaiswal said.
Police said the accused disclosed that they were involved in two extortion bid cases, in which they had demanded lakhs from two businessmen of Bawana and DSIIDC areas.
“Country-made weapons and stolen vehicles have been recovered from them. Cases under various sections of the Indian Penal Code have been registered against the accused,” Jaiswal added.
