Investigations revealed the woman had got a rape case registered against another politician, Harak Singh Rawat, in Safdarjung Enclave in 2014.

A day after the woman lawyer who allegedly honey-trapped BJP MP KC Patel was arrested, the police took her to her home in Ghaziabad where the video purportedly showing him in a compromising position was shot.

The police said they found several spy and CCTV cameras installed at her residence and recovered “incriminatory material”.

The police suspect her of running a big racket with the help of her associates, where the gang would trap high profile personalities and extorted money.

“Our teams raided her residence in Ghaziabad and found incriminating documents, photos and CDs that had several recorded videos. We seized the material,” MK Meena, special commissioner of police, said.

Investigations revealed the woman had got a rape case registered against another politician, Harak Singh Rawat, in Safdarjung Enclave in 2014.

She filed a rape complaint against an MP from Haryana in September 2016 following which a case was registered at Tilak Marg police station.

Police said the woman, from Saharanpur, came to Delhi five years ago.

In her statement, she said she came to prepare for the Rajasthan public service examination and later wrote the UPSC preliminary exams. Sources said she had fought panchayat elections from her village.

The woman told the police that she had done her Masters in English and Political Science, LLB and LLM. The police, however, suspect the degrees are fake.

They will take her to Muzaffarnagar, from where she has claimed to have got those degrees, on Thursday to verify her claims.

The woman claimed the MP sexually assaulted her at his north avenue residence and again at her Ghaziabad residence, threatening her with dire consequences.

Investigators said the woman installed spy cameras inside the house with an intention to honey-trap high-profile men and record them in the act to extort money.

Sources said she threatened to leak the ‘compromising images’ of the MP if he refused to pay R 5 crore to her.

The woman however claimed she installed the cameras as she was being threatened by the MP and she wanted to keep the videos as a proof.

The police seized the CD and accessed the audio files, which they will examine to find how the episode unfolded. Police said the woman had kept a spy cam in her bag.

Sources said that the police contacted some businessmen whom the women had allegedly honey-trapped but they refused to file a complaint.
