Municipal commissioner Manish Gupta said the plant operates under Public Private Partnership with IL&FS and is the first plant in the country to receive such credits.
“The plant recycles the municipal waste which in turn eases pressure on the landfill site,” he said. Since 2007, the plant has converted two lakh tonnes of municipal waste into manure through ‘aerobic composting technology’.
