Kore, Jois BJP candidates for RS

The BJP central election committee awards RS nomination to educationist Prabhakar Kore and former Bihar governor Rama Jois, reports Shekhar Iyer.
With an eye on bringing greater stability to its first-ever ministry in Karnataka, the BJP central election committee awarded a Rajya Sabha nomination to former Congress MP and educationist Prabhakar Kore.
The party also named former Bihar governor Rama Jois for the RS election from Karnataka. Jois, who is close to the RSS, had fought the legal battle for AB Vajpayee and LK Advani against the 1975 Emergency. BJP spokesman Rajiv Pratap Rudy was named as the Rajya Sabha candidate for the by-election from Bihar.
